Dear Parents,
Further to our recent Safer Internet Day talks with parents and pupils the school would like to highlight the recent phenomenon known as MOMO. This has made the British press and is currently dropping on various social media platforms.
If reports are to be believed a scary looking figure appears on Youtube video clips promoting suicide amongst young people. Understandably this is very scary especially for young children in particular. Various articles can be found online to guide you better.
All the usual e-safety advice should apply in your home (Link to our e safety advice pages) and thank you to several members of our school community who have forwarded advice direct from the National Online Safety website – see below.
Please take the time read this and have conversations with your children about the dangers MOMO presents and what they should do if they come across this on the internet.
We have spoken to pupils in Years 3 through 8 in assemblies this morning (a very general chat, without specifics about what to do if this pops up on your screens) and Mr Richards will be having conversations with the Year 2 classes this week.
Kind Regards
Matthew King
Deputy Head Pastoral
